There are text exemptions available for those who qualify. A tax exemption releases an individual from the requirement to pay all or a fraction of the taxes assessed on his or her real property.
The Town of Phillipston has adopted three such exemptions:
Clause 17 is for a widow or widower.
Clause 41B is for an elderly person of the age 70 or older who fall into criteria of income and savings.
Clause 22 which is for disabled veterans.
