Highway Department Maintenance Operator, Class B 

The Town of Phillipston is seeking qualified applicants for full-time position of Highway Department Maintenance Operator, Class B. Responsibilities include maintenance and repair of streets, storm drainage systems, and related facilities; snow and ice removal; street sweeping; sign and street painting; roadside mowing; tree and brush removal; maintenance and repair of department vehicles and equipment; assist other departments on projects. Essential skills include operating trucks, heavy/light equipment, power, hand equipment; thorough knowledge of materials, tools, and techniques for road construction and maintenance; and of snow and ice control techniques and best practices. Minimum qualifications: High school diploma; 3 years experience in public works construction and maintenance activities including heavy motor vehicle and equipment operation; Current possession of a Class B Commercial Driver's license with Airbrake Endorsement, as well as current possession of Class 2A , 2B and 4G Hydraulic licenses. Must have an acceptable driving record. Chosen applicant will be subject to a completed CORI check, and must pass a DOT physical upon request, as well as random drug testing.
