The Phillipston Fire Department is always looking for dedicated individuals to become on-call firefighters. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, be a high school graduate, possess a Massachusetts drivers’ license and be willing to be on-call for emergency call outs when they are available. It is preferred that applicants live within a reasonable distance to the station. State law requires that all new hires must be non-smokers. All applicants will be subject to a CORI check.
All new hires must obtain their EMT license within one year of employment. Ongoing training will be provided by the Department. All employees are required annually to maintain a level of first aid training, CPR, and hazardous material awareness, in addition to firefighting training.
